Can we just all agree that whatevachild has an unpleasant and unbearable attitude, and move on? Responding to a douchebag by being douchebags to him is hypocritical, and we need to take a step back and realize that whatevachild is a human being.
Being angry and objecting to whatevachild’s terrible treatment of people is one thing; I could even condone making a meme out of the “im sorry, you must not know who i am” text post, if it weren’t attached to a real person as a quote… but turning a person’s face into a “Scumbag Steve”-type image macro and posting hateful rhetoric about them IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.
Let the one to throw the first stone be the person who’s never, ever said something petty or spiteful that they now regret. I don’t think such a person exists.
I don’t like whatevachild any more than you do. I would never be friends with him, ever, because PERSONALLY my respect for him is nonexistent. But I don’t want to see people sending him death threats and hate mail, either. Because that’s never okay, and we’re just ruining our own image by publicly humiliating some poor, misguided, immature kid who ran his mouth.
My request: Please obtain your lulz at the epic fail, then move on without spewing hatred. Remove the #whatevachild tag from your ‘im sorry, you must not know who i am” parodies, and enjoy them as a harmless, impersonal source of funny. And please, spread this message.
